Peaberry coffee is a naturally occurring mutation of the coffee bean. Normally, coffee cherries contain two seeds, which develop into two flat-sided beans. However, in about 5% of coffee cherries, only one seed develops. This single seed is round and pea-shaped, hence the name "peaberry."

Belis sits atop the Cordillera mountain range with an elevation of 1400 – 1700 masl in Atok, Benguet province on the largest island of Luzon. It is blessed with natural springs that flow all-year round and is home to vegetable and coffee growers.
